Surface rights matters involve complex proceedings involving tribunals, possible appeals, and potential Court applications and actions. We have advised and litigated a substantial amount of surface rights matters since 2005 by acting for various landowners in Alberta against small to large operators. We also work with land experts to assist in the administrative and litigation process as their matter progresses to a tribunal hearing or Court hearing.

Civil Litigation

Civil litigation involves various topic areas such as commercial law, contract law, corporate litigation, oil and gas disputes, shareholder disputes, and personal injury law. We have practiced in dozens of different areas within civil litigation and have made submissions to all levels of Court from the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, and Provincial Court. We have been practicing in civil litigation since 2005.

Criminal Defence

Criminal defence involves areas such as assaults, thefts, robberies, possession or trafficking, domestic assaults, and impaired driving charges. We have been practicing in criminal defence since 2005.

Family Law

Family law involves drafting and advising on separation and matrimonial property agreements, custody and access litigation, emergency protection order matters, and litigation of family law matters in Court. We have made submissions to all levels of Court from the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, and Provincial Court. We have been practicing in family law since 2005.

Real Estate

Real estate involves drafting the agreements and transaction documents for a purchase or sale transaction in commercial or residential real estate. As litigators, we also have expertise in our advice to clients respecting their real estate transaction issues, whether they be contractual issues, specific performance issues, or other issues which may involve us having to go to Court. As litigators and as real estate lawyers, we can be assertive to our client's positions and advise on whether their positions can be upheld by the Court.
